Ready to get your ads up and running? Let’s go! đ
- Get Familiar with the Basics
Before we dive in, let’s quickly cover some terms and definitions you’ll see along the way:
Keywords – Think about what your customers might type when they’re looking for your products or services. Keywords are like magnets that attract the right people to your ad. When someone types these words into Google, your ad has a chance to appear.
Cost-per-click (CPC) is exactly what it sounds like – you only pay when someone clicks your ad. No clicks? No cost! This means you’re only paying for people who are actually interested in what you offer.
Click-through rate (CTR) tells you how many people who see your ad end up clicking it. It’s like a batting average for your ads – the higher, the better! If 100 people see your ad and 5 click it, your CTR is 5%.
Conversions are the good stuff – when someone clicks your ad and then does what you hoped they’d do, like filling in your contact sheet, buying something or signing up for your newsletter. It’s like turning a window shopper into a customer!
After you create your account on Adbot, you will start the process of creating your campaign. - Selecting Where You Want to Advertise
This sounds like an easy one but so many of our clients get it wrong. Let’s break it down:
If you select that you want to advertise to everyone in South Africa, that means you have an opportunity to show your ad to 20 mil people. That’s great, but here’s what you need to know: to make an impact in showing all these people your ad, you need to have a budget to match.
You can work on around R0.05 per person in that geo selection. This means if you really want to advertise to the whole of South Africa, your budget needs to be R1 mil per month.
But don’t run away now! The secret is in selecting the right area where your customers are. Sure, they’re all in South Africa, but you’re also paying for people who will never buy your product. So be specific.
For example: If you’re selling padel rackets in Claremont, then rather select Claremont and your surrounding areas. This will make sure you get the right people and don’t waste money on the wrong ones. - Add Your Competitors
We would like you to add your competitors so that we know what industry you’re in, but more importantly, to make sure when they don’t have enough money left in their budget, you can appear instead to their audiences. - Create Your Ads
This is where you get to shine! We make it super simple by breaking your ad into three parts:
The Call-out – Grab attention by speaking directly to your ideal customer
Instead of: “Marketing Services Available”
Try this: “Need More Marketing Bang for Your Buck in 2025?”
The Value Proposition – Tell them why you’re special
Instead of: “We do marketing”
Try this: “25 Years of Marketing Wisdom in One Smart Platform”
The Call-to-Action – Tell them what to do next
Make it clear and inviting: “Start Your Free Trial” or “Get Your Custom Quote” - Choose Your Keywords (Don’t Sweat This Part!)
Here’s the beauty of Adbot – you only need to pick a handful of keywords (30 max) to start. Our smart bot will:
Find more relevant keywords in your industry
Manage your budget automatically
Move money from underperforming keywords to ones that work better
Pro tip: Not sure about keywords? Ask ChatGPT to generate 30 relevant ones for your business. Then let your Adbot handle the heavy lifting! - Set Up Your Landing Pages
Think of your landing page as your digital storefront. When someone clicks your ad, make sure they land somewhere that matches what they’re looking for. If you’re advertising a sale on blue widgets, send them straight to your blue widgets page – not your homepage!
Quick landing page checklist:
Does it match what your ad promised?
Is it easy to find what was advertised?
Can visitors quickly take the next step (buy, sign up, contact)? - Watch the Magic Happen
You’ve done the hard part – now let Adbot do its thing! We recommend:
Login weekly to do your keyword tinder
Checking your results regularly (we’ll show you exactly what to look for)
Watching which ads get the most clicks
Seeing which keywords bring in the best customers
Then use the keywords information and write articles to place on your website

Happy advertising! đŻ
